Plum sauce – fruity taste

A plum sauce that is quick and easy to make. Fruity in taste, intense thanks to the addition of cinnamon, juicy thanks to the excellent sauce. Goes well with many sweet dishes. For example, with my plum dumplings.

Just as summer is coming to an end, the time for plums begins. You can conjure up so many delicious treats with them. A hearty plum tart or a fruity plum sauce. Let yourself be enchanted by the intense taste of the plums and the hint of cinnamon that wafts through the room.

Fruity plum sauce refined with a hint of cinnamon. As a juicy accompaniment to desserts or as a snack between meals.

Ingredients
  

  • 400 g pitted plums
  • 10 g date flour
  • 1 g cinnamon
  • 300 ml water

Instructions
 

  • Wash and pit the plums.
  • Then cut into small pieces.
  • Simmer in a pan with the water, date flour and cinnamon for approx. 10 minutes.

Tips

Star anise and other exotic spices or cloves round off the flavor. Simply leave to cook. For a more compact sauce consistency, simply mix 1 teaspoon of cornflour with 1 tbsp of cold water and bring the sauce to the boil.

Interesting to know

What is the difference between plums and prunes? Damsons and plums are two different types of stone fruit that differ in size and taste. Damsons taste slightly sweeter than plums and are firmer in texture. Both fruits can be eaten raw or processed into various dishes, although plums are often eaten fresh due to their juiciness.
