Pea spread – heavenly pleasure

I love this pea spread. It tastes just perfect. The tofu makes it so heavenly soft, while the peas taste even better than they already do. It’s a dream of a spread! Eat it best with one of my breads and optionally put some fresh vegetables on top.

The absolute madness. This pea spread is the definition of a flavor explosion. It doesn’t take a lot of ingredients, just the right ones! If you ever didn’t want to eat it with bread, check out my rolls too. Additionally, you can also use the spread perfectly as a dip to potato products.

Ingredients
  

  • 250 g frozen peas
  • 100 g tofu
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1 – 2 tsp arugula
  • 1 – 2 tsp chives
  • 1 pinch of brawn powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 pinch of cayenne pepper
  • water for cooking the peas
  • some lemon juice optional

Instructions
 

  • Boil peas with a little water for about 3 minutes.
  • Drain tofu.
  • Drain the peas, collecting the pea water.
  • Lightly crumble the tofu and place in a container with the peas. Add a little pea water and mix with a blender. If necessary, always add a little of the water until the spread is nice and creamy.
  • Wash and chop the arugula and chives and add to the pea paste.
  • Season to taste with curry powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and shabbazo powder.

Tip

Allow the spread to infuse for 1 hour. In the pea season use fresh peas.

Interesting to know

Slaw has a characteristic, slightly spicy flavor reminiscent of celery or fenugreek. It adds a unique aroma to dishes and is often used in Indian, Ethiopian and Mediterranean cuisine. However, one should approach carefully when dosing, as the aroma easily dominates.
