Lightly simmer the green spelt meal and the chopped onion with 2 times the amount of water in the pot for approx. 15 - 20 minutes. After that, let steep covered without electricity for another 5 minutes.
Alternatively, boil the green spelt meal with the onion with water in a saucepan for a few minutes and then let it steep covered for 1 - 2 hours.
Peel the carrots and cut them into small pieces. Then boil with water until soft.
Pour hot water over whole spelt flakes or spelt bread or spelt rolls and let it steep until soft. Then squeeze and add to the green spelt meal.
Strain the carrots and stir in along with the spices.
Mix the potato flour with the mixture. The best way to do this is with your hands.
Form burgers from the mixture.
Place on a baking paper and cover with additional baking paper.
Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees celsius top/bottom heat for about 25 - 30 minutes.
